Thoughts about October

I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by! In October, our class set up routines and guidelines for using the computers and other technology in the classroom.  The students are doing a great job of learning how to use the computers appropriately.  They enjoy supplemental learning with reading and writing programs, as well as playing educational games on the Internet.  The students truly enjoy learning on the computers; they are a hot commodity!! As such, sharing time on the computers is a skill we have been practicing each day.  One student and I collaborated on a list of "shifts" for recreational use of the computers.  Posting the shifts has proven successful in sharing time on the computer and promoting social skills.  I am proud of my students' progress in following the guidelines for computer use :-)
